FAN's Dave Schwartz "just getting by" on $98,000

It was a howling hoot recently when Dave Schwartz, president of the so-called government-watchdog gang called the Freedom Action Network (FAN) made his regular Monday afternoon call-in to Columbia's Miss the Point Radio. Schwartz said he was "just getting by" financially. Of course neither he nor station-owner and moderator Keven Cohen mentioned Schwartz's close-to-six-figure salary ($98,000 for 2017, probably over $100,000 by now). No wonder you won't find Schwatz's salary on FAN's website. Keeping his high salary quiet enables Schwartz to portray himself as just another one of the people while FAN refuses to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. Who on earth does Ringmaster Cohen and the clowns in his government-watchdog circus (paragraphs 9-14) think they're fooling? America literally runs on lies and deceit.

If anyone thinks nullifying a will is a minor matter,  they should guess again. I cannot draw up a will of my own, nor can I sell the property I've lived in for decades.  Nor can I sell a now-antique car my dad bought for me while I was a teenager. And then of course there's the stress of hoping I don't die - I'm now 73 years old - before I leave a will. Such an event would make some probate attorney exceptionally happy, and I'm sure that's the outcome the State House gang prefers. The only way I can get on with my life is to hand over thousands of dollars from the estate, and participate in establishing a false public record that makes a mockery of my mother's good-faith efforts to leave her worldly possessions to her only child by paying an attorney to draw up her will. Satan himself couldn't have devised a more devastating predicament to inflict on someone, and I have done nothing whatsoever to warrant being treated in such a manner. I shudder to think how catastrophic nullifying a will is in situations where there are large families. Anyone related to the deceased would probably rush out and hire an attorney, which, after all, is what the probate racket is all about.

Of course, if there's anything this perverse little dump of a country loves, it's forcing people to violate their conscience. America wants more than to merely destroy people physically. It also seeks to destroy people emotionally, morally, and spiritually. I often wonder to what extent this evil beast of a country succeeded in destroying Jason Tharp's family. Their unforgivable sin was trying to help their teen-aged family member obtain a discharge from the Marine Corps.

Only a fool or a sadist would pledge allegiance to a country that allows a law placing a time limit on wills to be kept quiet and then suddenly inflicted on someone who is trying to settle an estate. I quit reciting the Pledge of Allegiance many years ago after realizing how ridiculous and dishonest the Pledge actually is. Pledging allegiance to a flag is bad enough (only the delusional would do such a thing), religiosity (hand over heart with a reference to God thrown in for good measure) is even worse. But what really brings on the nausea is claiming America has liberty and justice for all.

While these LOW-LIFE TURDS are sneaking around behind peoples' backs making life harder than it already is, and while a LEADING TURD like Nikki Setzler is stonewalling anyone who dares to complain, it would do each and every member of South Carolina's General Assembly a world of good if they had to scrape fecal matter from beneath the fingernails of an incapacitated adult who wandered into the bathroom and didn't realize he wasn't using enough toilet tissue. Fortunately, during my eight years as a caregiver, I was able to perform such duties with calmness and dignity, grateful that I had the opportunity to care for my Alzheimer's-stricken dad. Meanwhile, the State House gang was intentionally keeping it quiet about the trap they had set for me as soon as my mother's will reached the ten year mark after her death. Anyone who's not outraged by such a scheme is lacking in fundamental decency.

Oh, I know. The family unit in this property-thieving, sorry excuse for a country disintegrated years ago, and America has now spawned a sex-obsessed generation notorious for its refusal to care for aging/ill parents. The State House gang probably assumed that there was nobody left in the perverse little dump who would object to participating in establishing a public record that maligns the memory of their parents.

Don't misunderstand. I do now, and have always considered myself to be the absolute luckiest human on the planet.

I no longer have much use for the United States of America. South Carolina's probate racket is just additional evidence - there was already more than enough - to demonstrate that America is nothing but a lie and a ripoff. That should surprise nobody. A country so brainwashed and cowardly that it remains silent after a gang of Marine Corps thugs drown a screaming teenager - one of the country's own children - has nothing to be proud of regardless of its accomplishments.

I've also lost confidence in America's traditional, so-called "religious" institutions. Zen Buddhist Ruth Fuller Sasaki (1892-1967), raised  Presbyterian, gave an apt summary: "The problem with Western people is that they want to believe in something but at the same time they want something easy. Zen is a lifetime work of self-discipline and study."

I couldn't adequately express the contempt I have for this evil beast of a country if my life depended on it. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." - Ephesians 6:12 KJV

Was South Carolina's 2018 election rigged?

That's the question South Carolinians better be asking, because as things now stand, South Carolina doesn't even have a government. All the state can lay claim to is a gang of white-collar thugs - currently holed up in the State House - intent on ripping South Carolinians off in any way imaginable. The State House gang has the entire state under siege, using such aliases as General Assembly and South Carolina Legislature. Gang members refer to themselves as "lawmakers," "legislators," and "representatives of the people."

Longtime political whore Nikki Setzler is a prime example of the kind of garbage that makes up South Carolina's General Assembly. Setzler was publicly exposed in 2017 for his conflict of interest in all things probate. It's now a matter of public record that he derives income from his probate-dealing law firm. Pressed for action to eliminate the probate racket, Setzler exemplifies the high-handed nature of the State House gang by simply clamming up. Does the State House gang act like they're dependent on fair elections? Or does their behavior suggest that they know something about elections that most folks don't? I tried to post comments about the probate racket below the two State newspaper articles linked to above, but comments were not allowed.

By "rigged" I mean beyond the usual gerrymandering and corporate financial aid for election campaigns from such crooked, thug goon corporations as SCANA. I'm talking about the way the vote was tallied.

If you wanna know who's really concerned with helping South Carolinians, there's a simple way to find out. Anyone aware of the probate racket who has done everything in their power to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills is on the public's side, and anyone who refuses to do so is the public's enemy. A great example of the latter is Chris Wooten's blabber on his "show" on Columbia's "Make the Point" (I call it "Miss the Point") radio station. "Legislator" Wooten has never ever not once, to the best of my knowledge, breathed a word about South Carolina's probate racket, much less warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been quietly placed on wills. Wooten's ad for his show is interesting in that he claims "people don't trust what's going on in the State House," which suggests the State House gang has heard plenty from the electorate, but Wooten has yet to raise an eyebrow that the gang was allegedly re-elected fair-n-square. More comments about "Columbia's only talk-radio station" later in this post.

I got to thinking about how unbelievably gullible South Carolinians would have to be to re-elect the State House gang, especially in the midst of the fleecing they got - and continue to get (I don't buy the notion that SCANA can't be made to reimburse rate-payers) - via the nuclear power scandal, a ripoff of such magnitude that it attracted national attention. Then I realized that a totally rigged 2018 election isn't out of the question when the public is confronted with a mafia-style, greed-obsessed gang whose members have wormed their way into positions of power. The gang's tentacles are widespread and deeply entrenched throughout the state. To confirm it, one need only consider the news blackout regarding the probate racket. Local mainstream media "knows better" than to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. If the State House gang thought they could get away with it, would they rig an election? You bet they would.

If the electorate really did re-elect the State House gang, then Governor Henry McASSter (sic) was no doubt elected because of his overdone southern accent, a manner of speaking which, to anyone with a brain, makes him sound like the countrified hick he apparently is. But of course, McASSter's strategy wasn't to appeal to anyone with a brain. In fact, it was quite the opposite, and succeeded majestically if we are to believe the proclaimed results of the election. For all his southern-styled blabber about his concern for the welfare of South Carolinians, McASSter has yet to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. McASSter - along with every other member of the State House gang - apparently gets a sadistic pleasure out of people finding out all of a sudden that a will has been nullified. That's the kind of deceitful, low-life creep South Carolina now has posing as a governor.

There are two main reasons why the State House gang is so secretive about the probate racket. Of course they want to trap as many unsuspecting South Carolinians as possible, and force 'em to hand over a big portion of estates to attorneys. Another reason is that the probate racket proves beyond a doubt how malicious the gang actually is. There are no innocent bystanders when it comes to members of the State House gang and the ripoffs they inflict on South Carolinians.

As I stated in a previous post, the gang's ripoff schemes are getting bolder by the day. The gang views South Carolinians not as people who's interests they represent but as collateral to finance a never-ending slew of SCANA-style ripoff schemes. The gang's latest scheme - that we've now heard of - is to pass a law requiring a state property tax, which would put peoples' homes at risk of foreclosure if they dared not or could not pay. The gang has long been targeting peoples' homes by empowering Homeowner Associations to foreclose, now it's a state property tax. Incidentally, the Homeowner Association in my neighborhood is totally out of control.

Meanwhile, some self-styled "government watchdog" individuals and organizations are also refusing to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. The center of operations for this circus seems to be "Columbia's only talk-radio station," aka "Make the Point" radio, which I've dubbed "Miss the Point." I've blogged about the South Carolina Policy Council's refusal to address the probate racket, and the cozy relationship Council President Ashley Landess has with station-owner Keven Cohen. Cohen is another self-styled "government watchdog" who refuses to warn South Carolinians (I've tweeted him links to this blog) that a time limit has been placed on wills. Cohen has his own conflict of interest because he runs ads from Jesse Near, who proudly boasts that his law firm only deals in probate-related matters. Cohen used to broadcast ads from Caldwell Trust, enticing folks to avoid the horrors of probate by setting up trusts, but Caldwell's ads disappeared when I started protesting the probate racket. Maybe Cohen is bitter about that...

The most recent member that I know of regarding Miss the Point's Government Watchdog Circus - Cohen makes a great ringmaster - features Dave Schwartz, president of the so-called "Freedom Action Network" (FAN). purporting to "keep an eye on what's going on in the legislature" and to organize text-messages to legislators expressing opposition to a state property tax. Right. Why vote the State House gang out when ya can tell 'em what they already know by using yer cell phone? Nuthin' like the illusion of freedom...

I visited FAN's Facebook page and submitted remarks about the need to warn South Carolinians about time limits on wills, along with a link to this blog. And wouldn't ya know it? My post was filtered out and never appeared. Doncha jus' love FAN's devotion to free speech and its concern for South Carolinians? FAN should be re-named FAKE of South Carolina. Then I tried to expose FAN's censorship on Twitter via the 2/15/2019 update to this post, but the link was blocked. Then any link to this blog was blocked. Wonder how much Twitter charges reputation management goons to give 'em access to someone's Twitter account. Keven Cohen, Dave Schwartz, and Ashley Landess enthusiastically promote each other as they refuse to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. "Legislator" Wooten functions as the circus' sideshow.

When self-styled, well-financed "government watchdog" organizations refuse to warn South Carolinians that a time limit has been quietly placed on wills, something is terribly wrong with the picture.

Like the South Carolina Policy Council's President, Ashley Landess, Dave Schwartz's salary is conspicuously absent from FAN's website, so to find out, I contacted the Secretary of State. At last count (2017), ol' Dave got a whoppin' $98,000, which by now probably equals or exceeds the six figure salary for his friend Ashley Landess. Wonder why these non-profit organizations - both of which claim to promote full disclosure - don't list the salaries of their top honchos on their websites. Anyone who donates to 'em is a fool.

So I'm supposed to believe that the State House gang was re-elected fair-n-square in the midst of public outrage over the nuclear power scandal, and I'm further expected to believe that there's enough public outrage at the State House gang to support not one, but two self-styled "government watchdog" organizations with such broad-based support that they can afford to pay their chief honchos salaries in, or close to, the six-figure range, but South Carolinians still saw fit to re-elect the same ol' State House gang.

Let's face it: Either South Carolina's 2018 election was rigged, or South Carolinians are some of the absolute dumbest - perhaps the dumbest - people on the planet.

Things aren't always what they appear to be, and at this point (pardon the pun) it wouldn't surprise me to find out that Cohen and his "government watchdog" circus is funded by the same government they claim to be so concerned with keeping an eye on. Why didn't the SC Policy Council - whose membership rolls are kept secret (betcha FAN's are too) - expose the probate racket back in 1986 when the racket got underway? Note that 1986 was the same year the Policy Council was established. Something is indeed terribly wrong with the picture. Betcha Cohen had one easy time of it getting a broadcast license for his radio station.

FAN's phone-text scheme is as strange as the proclaimed results of SC's 2018 election. As demonstrated by the gas tax, the probate racket, and the nuclear power boondoggle, the State House gang couldn't care less what the South Carolinians think about the gang's ripoffs. It was a hoot when shortly after South Carolina's 2018 election, Ashley Landess opined - without offering one shred of evidence - that she thought "South Carolinians were waking up." Maybe Ms. Landess meant "waking up to go to work each day," 'cause if South Caolinians are "waking up" in any other sense, ya sure wouldn't know it by the proclaimed results of the 2018 election. And that brings up another interesting development: Along with "Legislator" Wooten, as far as I know, nary a member of Cohen's Government-Watchdog Circus has raised an eyebrow that South Carolinians supposedly put the State House gang back in power.

Perhaps the most troubling thing about Cohen (not counting his promotion of something as filthy and inane as homosexuality) is his opinion that members of the State House gang are to be treated with respect. This is consistent with Cohen's belief that there are "some good legislators," and his often repeated declaration that he is not an "enemy" of the South Carolina legislature.

BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!!

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind behave respectfully toward a gang of white-collar thugs who at this very moment are probably cooking up yet another scheme to rip South Carolinians off? The gang gets no respect from me, and I'm proud to say I'm an enemy of the State House gang because they've proven themselves to be enemies of South Carolinians. These scum-balls are not your friends and it has nothing to do with Repuke versus Demagogue. It has everything to do with the people versus a pervasively corrupt government. While South Carolinians are grovelling at the feet of these ripoff artists, here are some sobering facts about the economy.

Cohen is a Jewish lad who is offended at anyone who dares to criticize Israel's genocidal, U.S.-backed policies toward Palestinians. For example, he won't listen to music by Pink Floyd, and Cohen's overly supportive sentiments toward the legislature may well have something to do with legislative efforts to limit criticism of Israel. No wonder Cohen is so fond of warmongering lunatics like Lindsey Graham and Joe Wilson, who think antagonizing Palestinians is the key to world peace. Then again, maybe Cohen simply thinks it's okay for legislators to sneak around behind people's backs and put a time limit on wills.

America is nothing more than a garbage-pit of corruption, corruption, corruption, corruption, corruption, and more corruption, propped up by a cowardly public, and if there's anything the sleazy little rat-hole is devoid of, it's a free press. The very idea of holding an election when incumbents have made sure the electorate isn't informed of the probate racket and the time limit that's been placed on wills. What a farce. Wonder what other ripoffs the State House gang is managing to keep quiet?

It doesn't help any that Americans are so susceptible to brainwashing. Dishonesty and deceit have become the hallmarks of every aspect of American society. Even advertisements of "free filing" tax returns can no longer be trusted. The scheme is to lure victims into investing several hours worth of time, then inform them that the "free" version doesn't include a common schedule, and a pop-up demands payment in order to file. There's no rule of law or con-artists like Turbo-Tax and H&R Block wouldn't dare pull such a stunt. The much-ballyhooed Credit Karma also advertises free tax filing, but  like Mountain America Federal Credit Union, is apparently in cahoots with the telephone industry and can't "understand your message" when someone dares to not have a phone. Dr. Roberts summed it up well when he wrote that "life in America has become a gut-wrenching, soul-sucking, misery-drenched, demoralizing existence."

From the get-go, Amerika (sic) has been a lover of lies, a destroyer of dreams, and a genocidal maniac. As for South Carolina's State House gang, I'd like to remind each and every member of the General Assembly - especially Political Whore Setzler, "Legislator" Wooten, and "Governor" McASSter - that a fly once lit on a turd floating around in a toilet, and thought it was the captain of a great ship.

Update 5/17/2019 - Protested in front of the Williams, Stitely, and Brink law firm in downtown Lexington for an hour yesterday. Thanks to all who signaled support and visited this blog.

Update 5/9/2019 - Today's article by Dr. Roberts exposes the truth about Ameika's government- controlled mainstream media and social media.

Update 5/8/2019 - protested the probate racket in front of the State House for about two hours. GREAT response, including more than the usual number of people stopping to talk with me. Special thanks to them, and to everyone who visits this blog. I also sent a link to this post to all SC legislators via South Carolina Legislature Online, and tweeted a link to this post to Make the Point Radio and to South Carolina "Governor" Henry McMaster.

What YOU can do:

>  Spread the word about the probate/trust racket. Most folks don't find out about the attorney-generated horrors of probate until they are struggling through the bereavement process, and shock value is a key part of the effort to browbeat people into hiring a probate attorney.

>  If you need help with non-probate matters, avoid using attorneys who advertise that they specialize in probate. Many attorneys refuse to get involved in the probate racket, and one of them told me with a wink, "It's a 'highly specialized' area of law."

>  Refuse to be bullied by the attorney-generated horrors of probate into paying attorneys to set up trusts. Probate is financed with tax dollars, and should be an inexpensive, viable alternative to setting up trusts. Executors (now called Personal Representatives) shouldn't need a law degree to probate an inheritance.

>  Cut costs by downloading your own estate documents - especially wills - from the Internet. Paying probate attorneys outlandish fees to "draw up a will" is risky business, because attorney-legislators have a vested interest in nullifying wills.

>  Last - and what certainly shouldn't be least (but probably is) - send "your representatives" an e-mail expressing your sentiments about the probate/trust racket.

Nikki Setzler - a political whore - ran "unopposed"

UPDATE 2/26/2019 - The so-called Freedom Action Network (FAN) of South Carolina refused to publish my submitted post on their Facebook page warning South Carolinians that a time limit has been placed on wills. Maybe FAN has bosses in the South Carolina legislature that won't allow 'em to spread the word.

Ain't it a cryin' dirty shame when a self-serving little jerk like Nikki Setzler - a sell-out to his own selfish interests and those of crooked corporations like SCE&G and SCANA - can attend church a few times and wind up running "unopposed"? Any well-informed person with a brain is opposed to Setzler. Trouble is, the electoral system doesn't function for anyone but political whores, in bed with crooked corporations, and/or looking out for their own selfish interests. Nikki Setzler epitomizes what's wrong in American politics. He's a con artist par excellence, and his success in politics is attributable only to the utter, mind-numbing stupidity of the South Carolina public.

Don't be fooled: It's not that Setzler has done such a great job of serving the public that he ran "unopposed." The little jerk has been backstabbing South Carolinians for decades - his latest claim to fame being a proud co-sponsor of the bill that ushered in the nuclear power scandal. The crux of his running "unopposed" is likely revealed in a rumor that Lord Nikki - a career politician - has accumulated a campaign war-chest of seven million dollars, enough to buy a slew of slick political ads aimed at a gullible-beyond-belief S.C. public

If voting was what it's cracked up to be, we wouldn't have a pervasively corrupt legislature, the nuclear power scandal, or the probate racket. It all boils down to a South Carolina public, brainwashed by corporate-financed political ads broadcast by presstitute mainstream media such as WIS-10.

Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed that once again we had election time, and not one word was broadcast by local media about the probate racket. Meanwhile, candidates "know better" than to bring the issue up for fear of offending the state's well-entrenched mafia, er I mean legislature, then getting no cooperation from the gang of influential attorneys like Setzler if a candidate gets elected.

It's always a thigh-slappin' hoot when the exceptionally well-paid Ashley Landess and her side-kick Kevin Cohen (or is it the other way around?) berate people for not contacting their elected representatives. This blog documents what happens when anyone dares to ask the little self-serving jerks for help, and it wuzza howling hoot when someone called in to the Kev and Ashley Show saying he contacted his representative and got ignored.

I initially tried the "nice guy" approach with Setzler and got no response until immediately after I picketed in front of his probate-dealing law firm. I wish the guy at least had enough guts to track me down and take a swing at me, but of course that's not the way political whores operate. They prefer to do dirt to people behind people's backs, and if anyone dares to complain, just wear the person down and into submission by delay tactics and stonewalling. Setzler won't even reply to my e-mails, and I'm not about to beg the little jerk to do the right thing. Poor Nikki. This is probably the first time in his sorry political life that anyone has dared to expose his repulsive behavior, put it in proper context, and demand that the little twerp serve the public's interest instead of his own.

I have news for Political Whore Setzler whose contempt for family values is coming through loud and clear: I'm in no bigger rush to settle this matter than he is. In fact, it just does my soul good - kinda has a cleansing effect - to stand in front of a sleazy, probate-dealing law firm and expose not only South Carolina's probate racket, but also the true character of a deceitful, over-rated, self-serving slob like Nikki Setzler. If he had anything even remotely resembling normal sensibilities - if he was anything other than a thick-skulled moron - he'd be ashamed of his behavior toward people who have lost loved ones. Ditto for each and every member of the General Assembly.

This year (2018), a number of unexpected events most certainly delayed my activities in response to the probate racket. Nonetheless, I can assure all concerned that I'm not the least bit deterred in my determination to expose the lack of fundamental fairness in the probate system for South Carolinians who are struggling through the process of bereavement, a process which, by all accounts, poses one of life's most profound challenges. Really, folks: What kind of "human" would secretly connive - in the name of greed - to make such a process even more difficult? Making the probate process more complex and placing time limits on wills, much less keeping the time limits quiet, is not in the public's best interest and everyone - including Political Whore Setzler - knows it. The little creep is just too deceitful to admit it.

If South Carolinians are dumb enough to be made fools of by self-serving slobs like Nikki Setzler, so be it.

Update 11/8/2018 - Directed people to this blog for two hours yesterday, standing in front of  the Williams, Stitely, and Brink law firm across from the Lexington probate court. Another GREAT response - MANY thanks to everyone who visited this blog and to those who signaled support.

Update 11/21/2018 - Protested in front of Setzler's law firm yesterday for about 15 minutes.

Update 11/19/2018 - Sent a link to this post to all S.C. legislators.

Update 11/26/2018 - Early afternoon on 11/21/2018, stood at the intersection of Leaphart Rd. and Hwy 1 for an hour directing people to this blog. Superb response, probably a record number of blog visits for an hour's effort and visits continue to increase. Many thanks to all who visited, special thanks to all who signaled support.

Update 12/4/2018 - Yesterday around noon, picketed in front of the Setzler and Scott law firm for 45 minutes. Traffic seems to have increased along Hwy 1, making for very good exposure. Then it was back to the intersection of Leaphart Rd. and Hwy 1 for 45 more minutes. Another great response - thanks to everyone who visited this blog.

Update 12/18/2018 - Yesterday brought another round of picketing - an hour's worth - in front of the Setzler and Scott law firm. Thanks to everyone who visited this blog and to those who signaled support. Paul Craig Roberts has a great 12/16 article, "The Myth of Western Democracy."

Update 2/5/2019 - Protested yesterday for an hour in front of the State House. SUPER response. Many thanks to all who visited this blog and to those who signaled support. Special thanks to those who took time to talk with me.

Update 2/6/2019 - Protested again yesterday for another hour in front of the State House. Another SUPER response, probably the best ever at that location for two hours of protesting. Thanks again to all who signaled support, the MANY who visited this blog, and another round of special thanks to those who took time to talk with me, one of whom, notably enough, was an attorney. He seemed supportive and confirmed that my understanding was correct re legalities of the probate racket.

Update 5/2/2019 - Protested for about 30 minutes yesterday at the State House during the teachers' rally. They were VERY supportive. Thanks to all who visited this blog, special thanks to those who took videos.

Nikki Setzler clams up - ignores my latest e-mail

I just love it when a deceitful, conniving little jerk like Nikki Setzler - spoiled rotten by the decades-long subservience of a stupefied South Carolina public - shows his true colors. .

Way back on 12/5/2017, I sent Setzler an e-mail via SC Legislature Online asking what he plans to do during the 2018 legislative session to simplify probate and eliminate time limits on wills. Haven't heard a word back, which has been his modus operandi from the get-go.

Who, pray tell (if a lowly racket victim may dare to ask), does Lord Nikki think he is?

He certainly doesn't think of himself as a representative of the people of South Carolina. We need only look at his stonewalling due to his conflict of interest when it comes to simplifying probate, and his co-sponsorship of the Base Load Review Act, obligating utility customers to pay in advance and underwrite billions of dollars in risk associated with the nuclear power scandal (he now wants ratepayers to accept the proposal from Dominion Energy, which would leave them badly ripped off).

It's time for Lord Nikki to start serving the interests of South Carolinians instead of his own selfish interests and those of big-moneyed goons like SCANA. He's been backstabbing the people of South Carolina for decades, keeping things like the probate racket quiet. With Setzler receiving income from his probate-dealing law firm, it's not hard to understand why he would stonewall whoever asks him to address the issue. While he's representing the interests of probate-dealing law firms, I'd like to know more about Lord Nikki's relationship with SCANA.

Jerks like Nikki Setzler don't deserve anyone's respect. They certainly don't warrant being addressed by any name that implies they serve the public interest.

With longstanding government corruption notoriously rampant in South Carolina, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the State House gang would sneak around behind people's backs and nullify wills, requiring victims of their carefully orchestrated scam to hand over thousands of dollars in attorney fees and participate in creating a false public record that insults the memory of deceased loved ones. In the final analysis, their unconscionable probate scheme is an assault on family values.

How does anyone drop so low that they're willing to make things more difficult for people who have lost loved ones? What kind of home life, what kind of upbringing, did these jerks have?

The legislature's initiation of and refusal to remedy the decades-long nightmare of probate - the racket got underway in 1986 - supports recent polls indicating that America is a dictatorship. Factor in a presstitute mainstream media that "knows better" than to reveal what the public needs to know. Likewise for self-proclaimed government watchdog organizations like the South Carolina Policy Council.

America's effort to attain self-governance has been a failure.

Members of the South Carolina legislature are nothing more than white collar thugs. Their quietly devised ripoffs continue to get bigger and bolder as a stupefied public grovels at their feet.Utter contempt is all anyone should have for masters of deceit like Nikki Setzler, who hold themselves out to represent the public interest while acting as agents for their own interests or the interests of crooked corporations. The Base Load Review Act should have been named the Let's Enrich SCANA Act.

Not only does Nikki Setzler epitomize what's wrong with government. He's one of the absolute sorriest excuses for a human that I've ever had the misfortune to encounter.

Update 3/20/2018 - Sent a link to this post to all SC legislators, and the House and Senate Ethics and Judiciary committees. Of course, all I ever get back from the self-serving slobs are automated replies.

Ashley Landess paid over $100,000 a year to say SC's legislature is corrupt? SHAME on the SC Policy Council.

According to the South Carolina Secretary of State, make that a whoppin' $104,681 for 2016. Perhaps President Landess got a raise for 2017. I e-mailed a request to the Secretary of State after I couldn't find Landess' salary on the Council's website.

Landess is a regular commentator on Columbia's Make the Point radio station. She's a longtime friend of station founder Keven Cohen, who started his operation several years ago after being fired from his longtime job at WVOC, supposedly because WVOC wanted to go in a "different direction."

Talk about a cozy relationship.

Cohen is quick to encourage listeners to donate to the SC Policy Council, though I've never heard him mention his friend's six-figure salary. From what I've heard, a better name for Cohen's radio station would be "Miss the Point."

The trick seems to be to conjure up as many ways as possible to break the earth-shattering news to South Carolinians that their state legislature (gasp) is corrupt. Nonetheless, Cohen and Landess have yet to breathe a word about South Carolina's probate racket. That glaring omission by both of these self-proclaimed government watchdogs - I've tweeted blog links to both businesses - gets stranger by the day.

Searching the Council's website, I noticed that the Council was founded in 1986, the same year attorneys in the legislature turned probate into a money-makin' racket designed to pad their own greedy pockets. Is the public expected to believe that a bonafide government watchdog organization, present from the get-go, has never seen fit to publicize what was going on?

Kinda makes ya wonder what guidelines Landess and Cohen follow when deciding where they want to focus the public's attention. Or, more to the point, what they want to focus the public's attention away from. Lately, the nuclear power scandal has taken front and center in their blabberings.

Landess' commentary last week was downright alarming.

She cooed ever so sweetly into Cohen's microphone that based on the Council's recent "research," legislators may now have no alternative but to allow power companies to continue charging customers for the boondoggle. In other words, the gang who got us into this mess may not now be able to get us out, an opinion at odds with late-breaking news regarding the proposed sale of South Carolina Electric and Gas.

Cohen's behavior has also been enough to raise eyebrows. For example, instead of interviewing a culprit like Nikki Setzler, who co-sponsored the bill that got the mess started, Cohen "grilled" a relatively unknown House member who wasn't even around when the nuclear power scandal quietly got underway. Notice in the news article linked to above that Nikki Setzler has nothing but praise for the proposed sale of SCE&G, which would leave rate-payers badly ripped off.

At this point, nobody can be blamed for wondering exactly who bankrolls the South Carolina Policy Council, or, to make the point even clearer, who's interests Cohen and Landess are looking out for. But alas. In that regard, the Council's professed dedication to "transparency" has again faltered.

I BELIEVE Landess when she declares that keeping the South Carolina Policy Council's donors anonymous is designed to protect them from reprisal.

Now that I'm more familiar with how the Council operates, I better understand why, when I first e-mailed the Council (in February of 2016) about South Carolina's probate racket, their response was "Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to pursue a topic like that." Right. When "resources" are spent on six-figure salaries, ya gotta cut somewhere.

Methinks Cohen and Landess protesteth too much. Actions speak louder than words.

Update 3/23/2018 - Cohen's refusal to mention SC's probate racket may have something to do with the fact that a probate-dealing lawyer - Jesse Near - advertises on Cohen's radio station. Near has a knack for keeping his location quiet: Couldn't find anything but a PO Box on the Internet.

Update 1/25/2018 - Protested for a little over 2.5 hrs front of Williams, Stitely, and Brink law firm across from the probate court. Thanks to all who visited this blog, signaled support, and took time to talk with me.

Update 1/18/2018 - Cohen is now running Dominion Energy ads (for which he's paid) and featuring fast talking Dominion big shots as guests. How long are South Carolinians gonna put up with being ripped off by self-serving jerks in the legislature?

Update 1/16/2018 - Protested front of the State House for 'bout an hr n 15 mins. THANKS to all who signaled support, 'specially the guy who took my photo n promised to put it on the Internet. GREAT to be back on my bicycle after 3 months off due to hernia surgery.

Update 1/5/2018 - Truly a pleasure to send a link to this post to all SC legislators and the Senate and House Judiciary Committees.

Probate-dealing law firm quiets down after being exposed

Updates 12/17/2017 -
>  The SC Secretary of State says the SC Policy Council's president, Ashley Landess, was paid a salary of $104,681 for 2016. Talk about WASTE - the would-be gov't watchdog refuses to breathe a word about SC's probate racket. Nuthin' like a "charitable" organization...
>  Protested front of the SC State House for an hour - another great response. Thanks to all who signaled support, stopped to talk with me, and visited this blog. WIS-TV did their usual drive-by, refusing to investigate.

It's downright amazing what public exposure can do. It's a deterrent to all kinds of things, including probate-dealing law firms who harass victims of South Carolina's probate racket if such victims dare to protest in front of their offices.

As soon as I exposed Williams, Stitely, and Brink, WOW, did they ever get quiet. Haven't heard a word out of 'em or even seen much of 'em since.

If they can't stand the heat, maybe they should get out of the kitchen.

What YOU can do:

>  Spread the word about the probate/trust racket. Most folks don't find out about the attorney-generated horrors of probate until they are struggling through the bereavement process, and shock value is a key part of the effort to browbeat people into hiring a probate attorney.

Update 12/05/2017 - Protested at the SC State House for an hour and 15 mins. beginning about 12:45. FANTASTIC response - thanks so very much to everyone who signaled support, talked with me, and/or visited this blog.

Update 11/29/2017 - Protested for an hour and 45 mins beginning at 3:00 in front of Williams Stitely, and Brink. SUPER response from motorists - thanks so very much to all who signaled support and/or visited this blog.

Updates 11/16/2017:
>  Protested in front of Williams, Stitely, and Brink for two hours, starting about 12:30. Another FANTASTIC response from motorists and pedestrians. MANY thanks to everyone who signaled support and to everyone who visited this blog. I'm always honored when anyone reads what I write.

Open remarks to Senator Setzler

Update 8/5/2017 - Leave it to a jerk like Setzler to publicly wring his hands after he and his cohorts set the stage for the nuclear power plant scandal involving SCANA and Santee Cooper. This article offers an apt summary:
"It was the same state Legislature that set the stage for the project in 2007 by passing a law that allowed investor-owned utilities like SCE&G to charge their customers as the large nuclear plants were being built rather than after they were completed."
Setzler was a co-sponsor (see 8th paragraph) of this ridiculous law. Just one more SC racket via legislators. No future charges for the never-to-be-completed boondoggle? We want our money BACK, and we want it back NOW, "Senator."
On 9/20, I published a few more comments on the nuclear power scandal.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Congratulations, "Senator."

For the 2017 legislative session, you succeeded in keeping mainstream media quiet regarding South Carolina's probate racket. thereby making sure that your bill never made it out of committee.

I'll reiterate something from what I previously wrote:

I'd like to know how Senator Setzler thinks it makes someone feel to have their affairs placed on hold - a kind of legalized extortion - unless they hand over thousands of dollars in attorney fees and participate in establishing a false public record that disrespects their deceased loved one.

A country that forces people into such an untenable predicament deserves no one's allegiance. The fact that it was done so secretively adds insult to injury.

"Senator," where did you learn such cowardice? Were you brought up to do dirt to people behind their backs? Or is it that somewhere along the way you realized that Americans will tolerate anything a corrupt government dishes out and you just couldn't resist exploiting the situation for your own selfish interests?

You're no public servant, "Senator." You never have been. Blinded by greed and political ambition, people like you are incapable of grasping the concept of public service. You're just another politician, more adept than most when it comes to feeding at the public trough.

People like you make a mockery of the electoral system. Anyone with normal sensibilities would be ashamed of themselves.

You must feel right at home when working with clods like Kenny Bingham and Emma Dean as you protect the financial interests of probate-dealing law firms like your own. In the absence of a free press, it's a special pleasure to protest South Carolina's attorney-instigated probate racket in front of the law firm of Williams, Stitely, and Brink.

"Senator," at least quit trying to con people into thinking the public has an interest in placing time limits on wills. Your repulsive charade fools nobody, and word is spreading about South Carolina's probate racket.

By the way, "Senator," are you a Lutheran or a Baptist? Your profile says Lutheran, but attendance-wise you seem attracted to the Baptist denomination. That must politically fortunate given the fact that among church-going South Carolinians, the Baptist denomination is far more popular than the Lutheran denomination. This survey revealed that a whoppin' 22.6% consider themselves Baptist, whereas only 1.3%. consider themselves Lutheran.

As for me, I'll keep fighting the good fight. It has to do with confronting tyranny, exposing injustice, and standing up for what's right. It's another one of those things that people like you will never understand.

Meanwhile...

Keep warming those pews, "Senator," regardless of the denomination you prefer to associate with. There's nothing like church attendance to confirm a devotion to the Golden Rule.

Update 8/30/2017 - Protested for two hours front of the Statehouse. BEST RESPONSE YET AT THAT LOCATION, PUSHING TOTAL BLOG VISITS WELL OVER 9,000. A million thanks to all who signaled support and visited this blog. A WIS-10 "news" person once again saw my sign and didn't stop to inquire. If there's anything WIS loves to censor, it's any mention of SC's probate racket.
